About me

These terms apply to lessons provided by Meng Choo Seow, a sole trader trading as Mandarin with Meng.

By booking a lesson, you agree to these terms.

Lessons

• I provide one-to-one Mandarin Chinese lessons for adults aged 18 and over
• Online lessons take place over Google Meet and last 1 hour. I send the Google Meet link by email after you book
• In-person lessons take place at your home, in Norwich, Great Yarmouth and parts of East Norfolk. Times, location and price are agreed by email before the lesson

Prices and payment

• Online lessons cost £30 per hour, paid by card when you book
• In-person lessons start from £40 per hour. The exact price depends on travel and is agreed by email before the lesson
• The code NEW10 gives £10 off your first online lesson. It can be used once per student and cannot be exchanged for cash
• I am not VAT registered, so no VAT is added to my prices

Cancelling or rescheduling

• If you cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before your lesson, you receive a full refund or a new time
• If you cancel less than 24 hours before your lesson, the lesson is not refunded
• If I need to cancel a lesson, I will offer you a new time or a full refund, whichever you prefer

Lateness and missed lessons

• If you arrive late, the lesson still ends at the booked time
• If you do not join within 15 minutes of the start time and have not contacted me, the lesson counts as taken

Technical problems

• If a lesson cannot go ahead or is cut short because of a problem on my side, I will offer a new time or a refund for the time lost
• Please check your internet connection, camera and microphone before your lesson

In-person lessons

• You agree to provide a safe, suitable space for the lesson
• I may end an in-person lesson early if I do not feel safe, without a refund

Your legal rights

As a consumer, you have legal rights under UK consumer law, including the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Nothing in these terms affects those rights.

Liability

I take care to provide accurate and helpful lessons. My liability to you for any lesson is limited to the price you paid for it. This does not limit liability for anything that cannot be limited by law.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with a lesson, please email meng@mandarinwithmeng.co.uk. I will reply within 5 working days.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
